Background And Project Description And Legal Basis Following The Successful Conduct Of Last Year’s Pagdayaw, The Department Of Tourism Region Vi Is Currently Preparing For The 2024 Pagdayaw, Which Will Be Held In Iloilo City On November 26, 2024. Pagdayaw, An Ilonggo Term For ‘praise’, Is A One-day Celebration To Be Organized By The Department To Express Its Commendation And Recognition For The Unwavering Support, Committed Service, And Efforts Of Its Tourism Partners And Stakeholders. This Year’s Theme Will Come After The Unwto Celebration Of World Tourism Day 2024: ‘tourism And Peace’. The Concept Of The Theme Revolves Around The Pursuit Of Peace As A Continuing Endeavour, And Progress Through Tourism Is More Relevant Than Ever. They Further Explain That Tourism Plays A Vital Role As A Catalyst For Fostering Peace And Understanding Between Nations And Cultures And In Supporting Reconciliation Processes. This Annual Momentous Event Will Include A General Assembly Activity For All Tourism Officers Across The Region. Iii.
