Description Background As Enunciated By Republic Act 9593 Or The Tourism Act Of 2009 “tourism Is An Indispensable Element Of The National Economy, And An Industry Of National Interest And Importance”, And Consistent With The Priorities Of The Administration Of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., This National Tourism Development Plan For 2023-2028 Shall “establish A Philippine Tourism Industry Anchored On Filipino Culture, Heritage, And Identity, Which Aims To Be Sustainable, Resilient, And Competitive, In Order To Transform The Philippines Into A Tourism Powerhouse In Asia.” On The Other Hand, Republic Act 11904 Or The Philippine Creative Industries Development Act Mandated The State To Promote And Support The Development Of Philippine Creative Industries By Protecting And Strengthening The Rights And Capacities Of Creative Firms, Artists, Artisans, Creators, Workers, Indigenous Cultural Communities, Content Providers, And Stakeholders In The Creative Industries. The Same Law Also Calls For The Establishment Of A Creative Industries Development Council, Which Includes The Department Of Tourism, Mandated To Implement A Long-term Plan For The Development And Promotion Of The Philippine Creative Industries, With Programs Aimed At Creating Opportunities And Employment, Nurturing Human Resources, Ensuring Financial-enabling Mechanisms, And Providing Incentives To Encourage And Sustain Filipino Excellence In The Creative Industries.
