Description Procurement Of Ground Handling Services For The Implementation Of The Air Connectivity Development Business Case Workshop In Laoag City On June 14, 2024 Terms Of Reference Project Background Laoag International Airport (lao) Is An Airport Serving The General Area Of Laoag, The Capital City Of The Province Of Ilocos Norte In The Philippines. It Is The Only Airport In Ilocos Norte And Is The Northernmost International Airport In The Philippines.it Has One 2,784 Meter Runway And Is Designated As A Secondary/alternate International Airport By The Civil Aviation Authority Of The Philippines (caap). It Is Equipped With Runway Lights But Not An Instrument Landing System, Limiting Operations During Severe Weather. Since March 2022, The Airport Can Accommodate Wide-body Aircraft Such As The Airbus A330. The Route With The Most Departures Is The Route To Manila (mnl) With An Average Of 21 Flights From Laoag Intl Every Week Which Is Over 91% Of All Weekly Departures. There Are No International Flights Via Lao. Philippine Airlines And Cebu Pacific Air Are The Only Airlines Operating At Lao Accounting To 69% Of All Departures. Two Types Of Aircrafts Are In Use. The Airbus A31x/32x And The Bombardier Dash 8. By The 2nd Quarter Of Year 2024, Lao Shall Commence Its Upgrade And Expansion Of Terminal Facilities And Airport Runway And Is Slated To Be Completed By End Of 2024. Procurement And Installation Of Air Navigation System Shall Be Done In 2025, And In The Same Year Will Be The Improvement And Construction Of Taxiways To Include An Apron And Drainage System. Objectives The Mission To Increase Air Connectivity Of Lao To Both Domestic And International Will Be The Focus Of Workshop Discussion In Developing A Business Case For The Region.
