Ii.background The Project Is Called The Ilocos Food And Wine Festival Which Kicked Off In Cebu Last June 2023, Then In Manila In July Of The Same Year. The Ilocos Food And Wine Festival Was Supposed To Happen Last September But Due To The Unprecedented Event Brought By Typhoon Egay, The Implementation Was Halted Until Next Year. Thus, On January 26-29, 2024, The Ilocos Food And Wine Festival Will Kick Off Featuring The Provinces Of Ilocos Norte And Ilocos Sur , As The First Of Many Ifwf Events To Be Held This Year In Various Locations Of The Country. Moreover, Chef Reggie Aspiras's Kitchens Of The World Culinary Tour, Which Is Conducted Both Locally And Globally, Will Simultaneously Run With The Ifwf Event. This Gastronomic Expedition Will Undoubtedly Acknowledge The Distinctive And Exceptional Culinary Customs And Vast Variety Of Ancestral Recipes That The Ilocos Region Possesses, While Simultaneously Showcasing Our Very Own Esteemed Chefs In The Region. This Festival Is Being Acknowledged And Supported By The Department Of Tourism As An Official Food Tourism Event In The Philippines Considering Its Significant Contribution In Promoting The Rich And Diverse Culinary Culture Of The Country. The Goals Of The Festival Are Identified As The Following: • New Product Development For Food Tourism • Documentation Of Recipes And Food Stamping “tatak Pinoy” Food • Food Heritage/defining Modern Filipino Food Through Festivals And Food Markets • Highlight Regional Cuisine From Street Food To Chef-led Innovations • Discovery Of New Food Products And Native Delicacies • Showcase Regional Crops And Artisan Ingredients • Invite Renowned Chefs To Showcase Their Food And Work With Their Local Counterparts To Elevate Skills And Techniques, To Cross-train And Develop Artisans In The Trade. The Department Of Tourism Will Bring And Sponsor The Land Arrangements Of 10 Press And Renowned Chefs To Participate In And Cover The Ilocos Food And Wine Festival From January 26-28, 2024. Staff From The Dot Region 1 And Laoag Sub-office Will Likewise Assist The Ilocos Food And Wine Proponent Led By Chef Reggie Aspiras In The Implementation Of The Festival Ensuring That This Will Be Successfully Implemented With The Support Of All The Lgus Included In The Itinerary.
