The bid capacity required in the given tender can be calculated using the formula: Available Bid Capacity = [A x N x 2] – 0.33xNxB Where, A = Maximum value of construction works executed and payment received in any one of the previous three financial years or the current financial year (up to date of inviting tender), N = Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited, B = Value of existing commitments and balance amount of ongoing works with the tenderer as on date one month prior to the tender closing date to be completed in next ‘N’ years. The tenderer will be qualified only if its available bid capacity is equal to or more than the total bid value of the present tender.

The bidder must have successfully completed at least one work similar to the work proposed, costing not less than 25% of the advertised value of the tender, in the last 7 years. Additionally, each non-lead member of the JV must have satisfactorily completed or substantially completed during the last 7 years, one similar single work for a minimum of 25% of the advertised value of the tender. The subcontractor must have successfully completed at least one work similar to the work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% value of the work to be subletted, in the last 5 years. However, for subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh, no previous work experience of the subcontractor is required.
