Carpet Shall Be Removed And Replaced With High Traffic Commercial Grade Carpet Tile Throughout The Common Areas. Proceed With 2 Floors (maybe 3 If Funds Allow) Of Carpet Replacement Prioritized Via The Carpet Master Plan Completed In 2019-20 (goc990571). (specify Square Footage Of Carpet To Be Replaced). After Removal Of Carpet, Existing Condition Of Substrate Shall Be Assessed Before Application Of New Carpet Tile. Existing Removed Carpet To Be Disposed & Recycled As Required By Environmental Legislations And Standards While Providing Proof Certification. Ensure Flooring Is Prepped While Providing And Installing New Carpet Tile Including Adhesive Square Connectors, New Base, Transition Strips & Carpet Accessories. All Items To Match Base Building Standard, Where Applicable. Lift/move Furniture As Required For Installation And Return Back To Same Location After Work Is Done. Glue-free Installation To Be Used For Installation Of New Carpet Tile. New Baseboards Shall Have A High Contrast Colour To Differentiate Between Carpet Floor Surface. Carpet Shall Not Have A Strong Visual Pattern And Provide Minimal Glare As Per The Latest Accessibility Standards. The Carpet Pile Texture Should Be Level Loop, Level Cut Or Uncut. The Maximum Pad And Pile Height Of The Carpet Should Not Exceed 13 Mm.

Currently, Place Du Portage Iii (pdpiii) Provides Steam For Humidification Of Place Du Portage Iv (pdp Iv). An Ongoing Major Renovation Project (pdpiii Asset And Workplace Renewal) Will Seek To Disconnect This Source Of Steam As Base Building Equipment Will Be Decommissioned; Therefore, A new Source For Humidification Of Pdp Iv Is Required. This Project Will Replace The Existing District Steam Connection Which Is Currently Generated From Natural Gas Steam Boilers In Pdp Iii, And Eliminate The Reboiler At Pdp Iv. The Chosen Option Is To Install A Centralized System From Electric Steam Boilers Located In Pdp Iv Mechanical Space In The Basement Level That Provides The Humidification For The Entire Facility. The Proposed System Will Result In Negligible Greenhouse Gas (ghg) Emissions For The Building, Which Currently Has None. Furthermore, It Will Contribute To Eliminating The Need For Natural Gas As An Energy Source For Building Steam Humidification, Which Was Previously Provided Through Pdp3. Given The Requirement To Carefully Coordinate The Project With The Pdp3 Awr, Bgis Has Engaged The Same Consultant To Prepare The Tender Package Who Also Prepared The Feasibility Study. They Are Very Familiar With Both Projects And Should Be Able To Expedite The Design And Substantive Cost Estimates To Accelerate Gate 3 Business Case Planning, Mitigating Schedule Risk.
