The Environmental Observation department of the Climate and Atmosphere Research Centre (CARE-C), in the framework of the ERC-StG project BAE, is required to proceed with the purchase of a a Multischeme chemical IONisation (MION) – Mass Spectrometer for online quantification of basic and acidic aerosol precursor molecules and clusters. This purchase is supported 90percent by the European Union ERC-2022-STGERC-BAE-Project: 101076311 and 10percent by the European Union Horizon2020 – Teaming Project EMME-CARE.

The Cyprus Institute (CyI), seeks to acquire HPC hardware that includes compute nodes and associated equipment. The compute nodes will be deployed in production runs for scientific and engineering applications that will specifically target problems in climate and environmental research as well as industrial-based use cases. The successful tenderer should supply HPC CPU (compute) nodes and related interconnect equipment to enable state-of-the-art parallel, distributed application codes. The procurement is a collaborative effort between CARE-C Center of Excellence under the EMME-CARE Teaming project and of the CaSToRC Center under the SimEA ERA-Chair project. The total AVAILABLE BUDGET is: €554,622.00 (24 percent by the SimEA ERA-Chair and 76 percent by the EMME-CARE Teaming projects).

The contract scope is the supply of an X-ray Computed Tomography (XRCT) system together with the software for controlling the hardware and reconstructing the projections acquired. The system will be placed in a X-ray radiation shielded room, provided by the Cyprus Institute. The system must be as flexible as possible, able to adapt to the different experimental needs, and open to possible future upgrades in order to improve its performances in terms of spatial resolution and phase contrast modality implementation.
