ECOLOGICAL SURVEY AROUND HALUL ISLAND AND AL-RAYYAN FIELD-The purpose of carrying out the ecological survey is to assess the current environmental conditions of sea water, sediment and biota in the vicinity of and around the AL-Rayyan field and Halul Island. Results of the surveys conducted will help QP to establish the marine environmental conditions and provide inputs to the regulatory body, i.e. the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME). The results of the surveys will depict the impacts of the production activities on the surrounding environment. The analysis and reports of the survey will also serve as a new baseline against which future survey results could be compared to. When further field developments are undertaken, these results will be taken into account for Environmental Impact Assessment studies.
