NEW SECONDARY SCHOOL IN DUKHAN TOWNSHIP-.,,1. Scope CONTRACTOR shall carry out the detailed design and engineering, procurement, installation, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, and start-up (herein after referred as WORK) for the completion of works comprising but not limited to works related to New Secondary School for residents of Dukhan Township to accommodate 750 students from Year 7 to 13, and all associated facilities and services. The WORK shall include buildings, building services, play areas, external works and car parking described below under clause 1.6 (herein referred as FACILITY) as specified in this Appendix-A, other appendices, specifications and drawings of the CONTRACT. Any approval, consent, acknowledgement, review of inspection by QP under this CONTRACT will not relieve the CONTRACTOR of any of their obligations, responsibilities or liabilities under the CONTRACT. ,,2. Background ,,Existing Dukhan Secondary School in its current state does not meet and comply with Qatar Civil Defense Department (QCDD) requirements and it presents an imminent compliance risk. Many of the existing building are porta-cabin type structures, which are not accepted by QCDD. Some porta-cabins have outlived their design life, and are in a poor state and are no longer weatherproof making them unfit for use as school premises. ,, 3. ,,CONTRACT Objective The objective of the CONTRACT is to design and construct the New Dukhan Secondary School FACILITY. The FACILITY must be completed and obtain QCDD approval and comply with Ministry of Education and Ministry of Municipality and Environment requirements and provide safe and suitable facilities to allow the school to continue operation providing education to children of QP staff residing in Dukhan.
