Study to support sustainable EU algae industry.

This pilot project aims to develop tools to support the implementation of Directive 2008/56/EC; in particular its descriptor 11 – 'Introduction of energy, including underwater noise, is at levels that do not adversely affect the marine environment'. Providing a means to determine the acoustic impact of human activities will enable the identification of measures to manage these activities in a way that reduces their potential harm to marine life.

European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) biology (lot 1) and seabed habitats (lot 2) contracts The subject of the present call focuses on maintaining and further developing the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) themes on biology (lot 1) and seabed habitats (lot 2). The contractors shall build on the work previously achieved by these thematic groups.

A new service framework contract for supporting better regulation-related activities and in two lots: — lot 1 – common fisheries policy, excluding its international dimension; — lot 2 – integrated maritime policy. The framework contract aims to assist Commission departments in carrying out better Regulation-related activities, in particular — retrospective evaluations, including fitness checks; — prospective evaluations including impact assessments; — stakeholder consultations and surveys; — assessment of costs and benefits associated with existing and future policies and/or regulatory measures in particular regard to administrative burdens; — preparation and development of policy measures and tools. In the fields of common fisheries policy, excluding its international dimension and integrated maritime policy.

CINEA wishes to enter into a service contract for the provision of an assistance mechanism that offers support services, technical advice and training for the implementation of the strategic guidelines and for the creation of an EU website.

The procurement will be for the continuation of a platform to support investment in the blue economy. The tenderer will provide services to assist small enterprises to put innovative blue economy products and services on the market and to increase investment in the sustainable blue economy. This will build on the work of the existing assistance mechanism and will include: • matchmaking between investors and companies through events, pitching and animation of an on-line community; • improving the investor readiness of companies through activities such as coaching or mentoring; • assisting the implementation of selection procedures for the EU support to businesses provided under BlueInvest; • supporting regional or national efforts to bring new products and services in the blue economy to market.

The study will aim at unlocking algae sector potential in Europe by supporting the sector and creating a European algae stakeholders forum (ForAlgae) – a collaborative algae stakeholders forum for linking and sharing best initiatives, practices and knowledge for strengthening the community, representing stakeholders in a single forum, to further collaborate to develop a common agenda and to contribute to ongoing and future activities of the European Commission. The study will also aim to support bringing more algae species to the EU market as either traditional or novel food or food supplements that are currently not allowed for use in the EU. All expenditure will cover the tasks fulfilling the two above mentioned objectives.

CINEA is launching this invitation to tender with a view to concluding a service contract to run a Secretariat to administer the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) and the European Atlas of the Seas, and to support other activities related to the European Commission’s Ocean Observation initiative.

The objective of this framework contract is to provide DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries with a flexible tool to request specific and timely scientific responses through advice and/or other specific preliminary services needed for the provision of the advice, with the help of specific contracts, which is necessary for the day-to-day policy and the management of the Mediterranean and Black Sea's fisheries in the context of the common fisheries policy and the GFCM's objectives.

The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, acting under powers delegated by the European Commission, is launching this invitation to tender for developing, maintaining and disseminating high resolution digital maps of the topography of the European seabed. It is based on Decision C(2018) 8395 final of 13 December 2018 on the financing of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and the adoption of the work programme for year 2019 and 2020. The European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) aims to provide access to quality-checked marine metadata, data and data products through a common gateway. It is being constructed using the principles and standards of the INSPIRE Directive 2007/2EC and supports the political goal, endorsed by the Council and the European Parliament, of completing a seamless multi-resolution digital seabed map of European waters by 2020.
