  • Managing the land that is situated beyond 2 miles of the Municipal Limits, which has been leased to the State Government and has not been appropriated by the State Government for any purpose
  • Transfer of private streets or squares to the Trust for their upkeep
  • Provisions for drain or water work to replace the obsolete ones
  • To conduct surveys and contribute towards them for the city’s betterment
  • Power to prevent improper use of land or buildings under its jurisdiction
  • Stop encroachments or obstructions on public land
  • Power to prevent or demolish buildings within the urban areas 
  • Management of water bodies within its jurisdiction that includes 18 water bodies in the city
