PL Code : 4 This item being paid on per track Km basis includes the following. High speed surface inspection of
rails (using Eddy Current testing system). Capturing location and extent of Rail surface defects such as wheel bur
ns, squats, GCC, RCF cracks. This run shall always be done in conjunction with Ultrasonic testing of rails and welds
(normal run of SPURT for USFD testing). Analysis and sharing of defect data in Railway's prescribed formats. Such
ECT testing of the Rail-network is expected at a frequency not more than twice a year And The Supply of spares fo
r Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of ECT system of the SPURT CAR. This includes spares required for successful c
ommissioning including Benchmarking as per enclosed technical specification of ECT system of the SPURT CAR an
d spares required for the contract duration post the date of its commissioning including benchmarking [for Eddy C
urrent Testing System, hardware, Software]. During the Maintenance Period, the Contractor shall, at its own cost
and expense, replace and install materials which get consumed or wear out beyond serviceable limits (the "Consu
mables"). And also replace any part or equipment ECT , which may be defective or worn out, by a substitute there
of (the "Spares"), which may be necessary for the efficient operation and maintenance of a ECT . The contractor s
hall maintain a sufficient inventory of Consumables and Spares for timely repair and maintenance of ECT. Spares f
or only 2 sets of ECT systems installed on first two SPURT Cars are required Schedule Quantity of SOR Item 4 is es
timated as 400 Track Kilometers for each calendar Month of Operation for each SOR Item number 3, duly complyi
ng with the technical specifications and Specification-V, for twenty four (24) months under warranty and Sixty @4
0<41@ months post warranty. The services shall be counted in track Kilometres when respective ECT system star
ts its testing work, after successful commissioning including successful Benchmarking of the respective SPURT CA
R. It shall always be ensured that ECT system is used as per the actual need (maximum two rounds of ECT testing
of a track section in a year) along with normal vehicular USFD testing. SPURT Car should not be run for the exclusi
ve run of ECT testing. Payment as per the Actual Track Kms of Eddy Current Testing work done by the ECT system
(supplied as per SOR item number 3) A "comprehensive List of spares" comprising all the parts used in manufactu
ring of the ECT System and the cost of all spares along with their part numbers and rate of each spare part, HSN*
code, applicable Indian GST rates should be prepared by the successful bidder. The Part Number of Spares, and th
eir numbers used in manufacturing of the ECT system should be provided so as to make the list a comprehensive
one, and the total cost of such "Comprehensive list of SPARES" should approximately be matching reasonably, wit
h the total cost of SOR Item number 3. Approximate annual consumption of Consumables and Spares shall also b
e advised in accordance with Good Industry Practices. Such "Comprehensive List of spares" should be submitted p
ost the signing of contract agreement but before the supply of the first ECT system fitted on a SPURT CAR. The "C
omprehensive List of spares" should be categorised further showing the •Spares for ECT system ]

PL Code : 5 It is envisaged that in order to prove the efficacy and effectiveness of the SPURT Cars in actual IR tr
ack conditions, after successful benchmarking and commissioning, during the first round of USFD testing by SPUR
T CAR in any track section, the same track section will necessarily be retested thoroughly by deploying SRTs for 1
00% Performance verification as per the technical specification enclosed. However, the maximum length of such
100% performance verification of vehicular USFD testing, by contractor provided manual SRTs shall be kept limite
d up to: a)the total length of track kilometres (TKMs) tested by a SPURT Car in its first round of testing (first round
of vehicular USFD testing by the given SPURT Car anywhere on IR) OR b)6000 Track KM, whichever is less. This S
OR item 5 caters for the thorough USFD testing of running Rails and Welds (excluding flange testing) manually by
SRT (provided through SOR item no 1 above) under traffic conditions as per provisions of IR's "Manual & Specifica
tions for Ultrasonic Testing of Rails and Welds" (technical Specification-1) & related instructions, duly marking def
ects, submission of daily reports and storing backup data, as specified & directed. The rates are inclusive of contr
actor's men and, materials and SRT are as supplied by the contractor vide SOR item 1 above. Note: Rail change is
routine activity and therefore, in case of rail change in a track section where first round of SRT for 100% performa
nce verification has already been conducted, 100% performance verification will not be re-conducted for new rail i
n the same section. Payment under this SOR item 5 shall not be made for, any manual USFD testing done for I.Sp
ot verification by SRT in connection with SPURT car testing Or II.Testing of LER locations by SRT/in connection wit
h SPURT car testing Or III.Performance verification by SRT/s in other than first round of SPURT Car testing. Or IV.T
esting of Tracks on bridges, tunnels and their approaches (100 meters on either side) as specified vide para 8 c of
Technical specification. Schedule Quantity of SOR Item number 5 is estimated as 6000 Track Kilometres (TKMs) fo
r each SOR item number 1 during the entire contract period. When this item is operated, then the scope of work o
f SOR Item No. 2B will also be covered under this SOR Item No. 5. ]
