The Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a union territory of India consisting of 572 islands having about 150 km north of Aceh in Indonesia and separated from Thailand and Myanmar by the Andaman Sea. It consists of two island groups, the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands which are separated by the 150 km with the Andaman islands to the north of this latitude and Nicobar islands to the south(179km).Its capital is the city of Port Blair having a total land area of approximately 8,249 km2. The territory is divided into three districts: the Nicobar District, the South Andaman district, and the North and Middle Andaman district.As per the  Census of 2011, the population of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands was 379,944.
