14.49 Cleaning of under ground sump, Over Head R.C.C. Tank ( independent staging) including disposal of slit and rubbish, all as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge. The cleaning shall consist following operations:- (i)Tank shall be emptied of water by pumping & bottom shall be cleaned of slit and other deposits. (ii) Entire surface area of the sump shall then scrubbed thoroughly with wire brush etc.and pressure washed with water. (iii) Chlorination of RCC internal surface by liquid chlorine. (iv) The treated surface shall be dried using air jetting and all loose particles shall be removal from the surface. (v) Finally the surface shall be treated with ultraviolet radiation etc. as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge. Let a underground tank of capacity 272000 litre or 272 KL and area of tank is 570sqm (a) Dewater and slit cleaning Considering through pumping 20% of water to be lifted, water discharge =(272 x 20/ 100=54.40KL) Cost of pumping water with pump of capacity 4000 litres per hours , = (54.4/4 = 13.6 hours = @ 8 hours/ day = 1.7 day)

Providing and fixing Gate valve (50mm dia) with both ends flanged as per specification complete in all respect.

Providing & fixing of MS bend fixed on 100 mm dia pipe with required Nos. of bolts & nuts as per 15:1 as per 15:1369-1967 & 3mm thick asbestos fiber jointing Basket conforming to IS: 2712-1965. The welding o welding of flanges with bend should conform to IS: 816-1965 with electrode as per IS: 814-19678 welding of bend & flange/pipe should be done in two or three layers on both faces to make the joints air tight & as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge.
