The defence is the backbone of any country. India's security is under the charge of the Government of India. The Supreme Command of the Armed forces is the one who takes responsibility for national defence with the Cabinet. The Ministry of Defence is regulated by the Defence Minister or the Raksha Matri, who provides a policy framework to the Armed Forces to execute their duties for protecting our country. The main motive of the Defence Ministry is to obtain policy directions from the Government on every subject that is related to the country's safety and security, interact with the Government for the service headquarters, Inter-service Organizations, etc. It is also equally important to implement the Government's policy regulations and execute approved programs within the allocated resources. There are four departments in the Ministry of defence, namely, Department of Defence (DOD), Department of Defence Production (DDP), Department of Defence Research and Development (DDR&D) and finally Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare and Finance Division. The Department of Defence is linked to an Integrated Defence Staff (IDS), three duties, and several inter-service organizations. It is also responsible for keeping track of the Defence budget, establishment matters, defence policy, etc. The Department of Defence Production is managed by a secretary who deals with issues related to inspecting imported items, departmental production, etc. Whereas the Department of Defence Research and Development is responsible for advising the Government on some scientific aspects regarding military equipment and logistics. The department of ex-servicemen Welfare is also managed by a secretary who oversees activities like resettlement, Welfare, and pensionary matters of the Ex-servicemen. Several tenders are issued to ensure proper maintenance and execution of these tasks. The Ministry of defence tenders is related to some of the principal functions to ensure effective implementation of the Government's policy performance on approved programs within the allocated resources. The other most crucial aspect of the Ministry of Defence is the finance division, which is considered as the backbone of the Ministry as it manages all possible financial connections and is controlled by the Secretary of Financial Adviser. Some of the other roles and responsibilities of the finance division comprise exploring all the defence matters, providing financial advice to the other functionaries of the Ministry of Defence, act as an integrated Finance Division of Ministry of Defence and assist in the formulation and implementation of defence plans. The defence tenders are issued to prepare and monitor the budget estimations and even the pensions.
