Background The Pacific Noncommunicable Diseases (ncd) And Health Through The Life Course Unit Provides Technical Support To The Pacific Island Ministries Of Health With Noncommunicable Diseases, Health Promotion, Nutrition And Related Issues Including Cancer Control. Cancer Control Foci Are Primarily National Cancer Control Planning, Cancer Registry Support And Cervical Cancer Early Detection Programme Support. There Is Particular Focus On Supporting The Region To Eliminate Cervical Cancer, In Light Of The Global Strategy To Accelerate The Elimination Of Cervical Cancer As A Public Health Problem. Who Is Collaborating With Regional Leadership And Technical Organizations, Ministries Of Health As Well As Ingo/un Partner Agencies To Develop A Coordinated Approach To Cervical Cancer Elimination. A Situational Analysis And Response Of Cervical Cancer In The Pacific Was Previously Completed For The Pacific In 2016 (available As Attachment) And This Requires Updating Prior To Further Investigations Around Strategic Planning For A Pacific Approach To Cervical Cancer Elimination. The Update Will Therefore Provide A Comparator Since 2016 And Include Alterations To The Report Structure To Help Support High-level Decision Making In The Context Of Cervical Cancer Elimination.   Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity To Assist Pacific Island Countries And Areas (pics), Multinational Leadership And Technical Organizations With Setting Direction For Upcoming Strategies For Cervical Cancer Elimination, A Situational Analysis Is Required In Order To Gain An Updated Understanding Of Activities In The Pacific Islands Sub-region And Identification Of The Common Programmatic Gaps. Stakeholders Are Also Seeking Expert Recommendation Of Policy Options Which Are Tailored For The Pacific Island Setting. A Coalition Of Pacific Island-based Implementation/research Agencies, Who Have Access To Technical Support From One Or More International Cancer Control Expert Groups, Will Be Recruited To Review Cervical Cancer Across The Cancer Control Continuum In Each Pic, Including Inputs From The Private Sector, Ngo And Other Stakeholder Non-state Actors (nsas) That Are Active In This Field. There Will Be A Review Of Progress On Previous Policy Recommendations (see Below) And Alignment With The Global Strategy To Accelerate The Elimination Of Cervical Cancer As A Public Health Problem (global Strategy) As Well As Other Relevant Regional And International Commitments And Strategies. The Final Report Is Expected To Include Definition Of A Pacific Programme For Cervical Cancer Elimination, A Gap Analysis And Pic Ideal Elimination Programme, And Recommendations For Next Actions. Deliverable 1.2: Mapping Matrix Of Cervical Cancer Prevention And Control Activities. Outputs And Quantitative Impacts Of Activities Should Be Included Where Possible. Deliverable 1.3: Review And Compare Progress Since Previous Policy Recommendations And Update. Deliverable 1.4: Country-specific Analysis Of The Challenges Women And Girls Face In Accessing Cervical Cancer Control Activities And Work Progressed To Date In Other Relevant Sectors And With Vulnerable Communities Inclusive Of The Lgbtqi+ Communities And Those With Disabilities. Output 2: Gap Analysis Of Cervical Cancer Control Capacity In The Pacific With A View To Achievement Of The Targets In The Global Strategy. This Output Should Be Presented As An Addendum To Output 1. Deliverable 2.1: Describe A Combined Vision Of A Successful Pan-pacific Programme For Cervical Cancer Elimination As Reported By Key Stakeholders And Governments. Deliverable 2.2: Provide Description, Analysis And Quantification Of The Programmatic Gaps To Achieve The Global Strategy Targets, For Each Pic And The Pan-pacific Vision. Deliverable 2.3: Analysis Of Health Sector Improvements Required To Achieve Cervical Cancer Elimination, Such As Service Delivery Mechanisms, System Capacity, Policies, Financing. Deliverable 2.4: Key Recommendations (at Least 2 Per Global Strategy Pillar) For Advancing Both Health Programmes And Systems To Achieve Cervical Cancer Elimination, In The Short Term (1-2 Years) And Long Term (by 2030). Methods To Carry Out The Activity Literature Review Stakeholder Interviews/communications Data Requests From Governments Surveys Consultations With Key Thematic Organisations, E.g.
