The building and the entire complex are listed buildings. The east wing, originally built in the Romanesque style, has been rebuilt and changed many times over the centuries. Measure: As part of the general renovation, the interior of the east wing is being renovated as an extension of the museum tour and meeting place. The work is being carried out while the museum is still in operation. The renovation and restoration measures are being supervised by the State Office for Monument Preservation in Hesse. This is a requirement of the monument protection laws and the primary goal of monument preservation measures is to preserve the original building fabric. Historic wooden doors and wooden fittings of medium to very high quality are to be restored, including fittings and metal components; in some cases, fittings are to be added. The aim is to conserve and restore the current inventory with the minimum necessary measures: the appearance after conservation or restoration should fit aesthetically into the overall picture of the various rooms and areas. After the work, the doors should not appear as new, but rather transform the existing appearance into a well-maintained one and protect the existing building from further deterioration. The measures in this tender for the restoration of wooden and metal components include - decontamination if wood preservatives are found (cleaning and masking if necessary) - the wooden construction - the wooden surfaces inside and out - the metal surfaces inside and out - the operation and lockability of the doors and fittings - some locking mechanisms (upgrading to a panic function in keeping with historic monuments) - exchange of expertise, coordination and acceptance of intermediate states, documentation of the work and concern: - a total of 11 doors (inside and outside); the doors are of different origins and were dendrochronologically dated between 1200 and 1900. - 6 wooden fittings (railings, balusters, kneeler, wall cupboard) - 3 windows - Approx. 26 m² of floorboards It is assumed that the work will be carried out on site - The work will take place while the monastery is in operation (events, visitors). Requirements for the responsible manager on site: 1. Certified master carpenter or comparable and a skilled tradesman restorer 2. Several years of professional experience in the area of monument preservation, with references in door restoration 3. Ability to manage and coordinate construction sites (proof of at least three construction site managers) 4. Ability to create project-appropriate documentation of measures in words and pictures (proof by submitting appropriate documentation) Requirements for the team on site: At least one other member of the team on site must be fluent in German (in the event of vacation or absence due to illness). For the skilled tradesman restorer to be employed as a specialist foreman (see above), in addition to master craftsman training, proof of collaboration on several comparable objects in the monument must be provided. For the employees to be employed, proof of qualified skilled tradesman training must be provided and comparable objects on which the respective employee has worked must be named.
