The University of Hamburg (hereinafter "uhh") is a university of excellence with more than 43,000 students and around 6,000 members of staff, making it one of the strongest research universities in Germany and also one of the largest training institutions in northern Germany. With its concept of the "flagship university" in the Hamburg metropolitan region, it maintains innovative and cooperative relationships with scientific and non-scientific partners. It produces the future-oriented social goods of education, knowledge and the exchange of knowledge for the location - but also nationally and internationally - with the key objective of sustainability. The University of Hamburg (uhh), as the central procurement office for the Hamburg Carl Von Ossietzky State and University Library (sub), the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (haw) and the Hafencity University Hamburg (hcu), is conducting a public tender in accordance with Section 9 Uvgo for a service. The Hamburg State and University Library Carl Von Ossietzky (SUB) is Hamburg's largest general scientific library and at the same time the central library of the University of Hamburg and the other universities in the city. It serves to supply literature and information for science, culture, the press, business and administration. For the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg it performs the tasks of a state and archive library. Together with the libraries of the University of Hamburg and the Central Medical Library of the UKE it forms the University of Hamburg library system. With more than 17,000 students, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) - founded in 1970 as one of the first universities of applied sciences in Germany - is the second largest university in Hamburg and the third largest university of applied sciences in Germany. The Hafencity University Hamburg - University of Architecture and Metropolitan Development (HCU) is a university that focuses on the built environment. The HCU brings together all aspects of building in design and drafting, engineering and natural sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences under one roof. The overarching research focuses of the HCU are climate/sustainability and digitization. DSPACE is free software for operating a document server. It provides tools for capturing, storing and distributing digital resources and is mostly used in universities, libraries and research institutions for an "institutional repository". This is often done with a view to the long-term availability of digital resources, since DSPACE was developed based on the OAIs reference model and is therefore architecturally suitable for developing strategies for long-term availability. DSPACE is distributed under the BSD license. The Sub Hamburg, HAW and HCU work together in a coordinated manner on the operation and development of the DSPACE system and therefore write the maintenance together with the help of the central procurement office of the UHH.
