Contract notice – Sector Directive, standard regulation negotiated procedure with prior publication of a call for competition/negotiated procedure (services) New construction of a heat storage facility and technical building for Mainova in Frankfurt: Design of the facades and the associated outdoor facilities – multiple contract with proposed solution with implementation and ideas section A ... More New construction of a heat storage facility and technical building for Mainova in Frankfurt: Design of the facades and the associated outdoor facilities – multiple contract with proposed solution with implementation and ideas section As an important building block in the energy transition in Frankfurt, Mainova intends to build a large-volume heat storage facility and an associated technical building on an industrial site that was previously used as an open coal storage facility. The heat storage facility planned for the Hkw West on Gutleutstrasse will have a considerable presence and visibility in the urban space with its height of around 65 meters, a diameter of 32 meters and location on the railway line to and from the main station. These new buildings and the gradual elimination of the industrial uses that still exist at present open up scope for a comprehensive and sophisticated urban design, also with regard to the long-term development potential of the site. At the same time, the development of the western adjacent area "gutleut-west" and the location of the interim venues of the Frankfurt stages there will lead to an urban location in an increasingly mixed-use area. As part of the award procedure, the participants in stage 2 will be given the task of working on a task with a proposed solution. The participants in stage 2 will probably receive the task, including the documents required to develop a proposed solution, as well as the invitation to submit a bid on December 17, 2024. The bidders will receive a fee of EUR 22,500 each (net) for working on the task. The deadline for submitting offers is February 24, 2025. The task is divided into a long-term conceptual idea and a concrete first implementation part including cost calculation. The planning services for building construction planning according to §34 Hoai and outdoor facility planning according to §39 Hoai are being advertised, each with Lph 2-5 and Lph 6-8 as an optional service, whereby services already provided will not be repaid at 50% of the aforementioned flat rate fee in the event of an order. The services are to begin immediately after the order is placed. The aim is to provide Lph 2-3 and the building permit documents for Lph 4 within 2 months of the order being placed. New heat storage and technical building for Mainova in Frankfurt: Design of the facades and the associated outdoor facilities - multiple contract with solution proposal with implementation and ideas section As an important building block of the energy transition in Frankfurt, Mainova intends to build a large-volume heat storage facility and an associated technical building on an industrial site that was previously used as an open coal storage facility. The heat storage facility planned at the Hkw West on Gutleutstrasse will have a considerable presence and visibility in the urban space with its height of around 65 meters, a diameter of 32 meters and location on the railway line to and from the main station. These new buildings and the gradual elimination of currently existing industrial uses open up scope for comprehensive and sophisticated urban spatial design, also with regard to the long-term development potential of the site. At the same time, the development of the western adjacent area "gutleut-west" and the location of the interim venues of the Frankfurt stages there will lead to an urban spatial location in an increasingly mixed-use area. As part of the award procedure, the participants in stage 2 will be given the contract to work on a task with a proposed solution. The participants in stage 2 will probably receive the task, including the necessary documents for developing a proposed solution, as well as the invitation to submit a bid by December 17, 2024. The bidders will each receive a fee of EUR 22,500 (net) for working on the task. The planned deadline for submitting a bid is February 24, 2025. The task is differentiated into a long-term conceptual idea and a concrete first implementation part, including cost calculation. The idea part is to develop a step-by-step, realizable, structural and open space planning overall concept for future land use that best meets the requirements described by the client and the urban planning significance and visibility of the location. The subject of the implementation part of the task is the planning of a facade for the heat storage facility and a building shell for the technical building as well as the outdoor planning of the associated open spaces. A building typology for the historically new type of use has not yet been developed. The design should therefore not only address and develop the design of the solitary location, but also the function and shape of the heat storage facility. A day and night design should create a clear connection to the near and distant references of its location. The proposed solution to be commissioned should support and actively shape these urban planning and functional changes. For the ideas and implementation parts, the client is hoping for a clever and sustainable design that highlights the development potential of the area and enables its step-by-step implementation. For the ideas part, processing at a scale of 1:500 is expected. In the implementation part, the proposed solution is to be presented in more detail at a scale of 1:200 with a 1:50 section. Two external perspectives and a model at a scale of 1:500 are also requested. The assessment will be carried out by a jury made up of the following: Stefanie Wüst, Head of the Economic Affairs Department for the City of Frankfurt am Main *** Prof. Dr. Marcus Gwechenberger, Head of Planning for the City of Frankfurt am Main *** Martin Giehl, Board Member of Mainova Ag *** Prof. Kerstin Schultz, Architect Bda, Reichelsheim *** Till Schneider, Architect Bda, Frankfurt am Main *** Prof. Svonko Turkali, Architect Bda, Frankfurt am Main *** Martin Bez, Architect Bda, Stuttgart *** Deputy: Winand Zeggel, Mainova Head of Electricity and Heat Generation *** Benjamin Jourdan, Architect Bda, Frankfurt am Main *** The project includes a budget of around 900,000 euros (net) for Kg 300+400 and 250,000 euros (net) for Kg 500. The planning services for building construction planning in accordance with §34 Hoai and outdoor facilities planning in accordance with §39 Hoai are being advertised, each with Lph 2-5 and Lph 6-8 as an option service, whereby services already provided with 50% of the aforementioned flat fee will not be repaid in the event of an order. The services are to be started immediately after the order is placed. The aim is to provide Lph 2-3 and the building permit documents for Lph 4 within 2 months of the order being placed.
