The existing Manda wide area network is built with components from the manufacturer "juniper Networks". In order to guarantee the uniform management environment, the compatibility of the transmission technology used and error-free operation in the data network of the scientific institutions, the required hardware components to be procured must also be from the manufacturer "juniper Networks". For this it is necessary to replace two of the previous hardware routers in the core network of the Manda network with current hardware routers. In addition, another router is required in parallel in the core network to connect the partner institutions and two switches for the necessary adjustments in network management. To support the data network of the guest house in the Austrian Kleinwalsertal, the Darmstädter Haus, the network hardware currently in use must also be replaced due to the loss of manufacturer support. Four additional switches are required for this. These are hardware components including licensing.
