The repair target is the roof of the A-wing of Haukivuori Comprehensive School. The upper floor structure of the A-wing is a so-called trestle roof structure. The current metal roof of the site will be dismantled, the eaves will be extended, the roof will be raised compared to the new substructures, a subroof will be added and a new roof will be built. Additional thermal insulation of the upper floor is an option in the project.

The site is a school building located in the Kalevankangas district of Mikkeli, completed in the early 1980s. The school has been renovated and expanded several times over the years. The D-wing space, which is currently being renovated, was last renovated more extensively in 2010.

The subject of the procurement is the repair work of the water roofs and upper floors of the city-owned Infantry Museum buildings numbers 10 and 12 in accordance with the design documents. The contract will renovate the existing machine-seamed metal roof and improve the ventilation of the upper floor, as well as make local damage repairs to the wooden structures of the upper floor.

Background

The project will repair the indoor air problem observed in the south wing of the headquarters school. The outer shell will be dismantled down to the inner shell, sealed, new insulation and a facade system will be installed. The repair work will mainly be carried out from the outside. In addition, the contract will seal some of the internal spaces and replace some of the windows.

The repair work on the so-called old part of the headquarters school's roof includes the renewal of the current machine-seamed sheet metal roofing, gutters and roof protection products. The fire- and rot-damaged load-bearing wooden structures and the underlayment will be dismantled and reinforced where necessary. New raised battens and solid underlayment will be installed and the eaves will be constructed to be ventilated. In addition, a new rubber-bitumen membrane underlay, a new machine-seamed sheet metal roofing and the associated underlayment, as well as new gutters and roof protection products will be installed. The repair work on the upper floor will include the sealing of the external walls and additional thermal insulation. In addition, the ventilation of the upper floor will be improved, some of the cavities in the upper floor will be opened and cleaned, and walkways will be built for cold attic spaces. An Aha survey will be submitted as an additional letter.

The Mikkeli City Office Building is a four-storey office building built on site and completed in 1986. The property employs approximately 260 people and the building is in use, excluding areas that need renovation. The HVAC renovation of the Mikkeli City Office Building is progressing in stages. In this 7th stage, the measures are mainly focused on floors 2-4 of the so-called central wing, which extends into the courtyard. The construction contract includes renewing the surfaces of the premises, suspended ceilings, sealing the structural joints and renewing the windows. The HVAC contract includes renewing the ventilation, domestic water pipes and drainage. In addition, new HVAC machines are being built in the area. The electrical contract includes renewing the area's cabling and lighting.
