Metsähallitus Metsätalous Oy Commissions Quality Monitoring of the Harvesting of First Thinning Logs in the Field Season 2024. Logging success will be monitored using the Monitoring Method according to Appendix 2. The inspection sites have been chosen in such a way that 20 inspections are carried out in each of the three regions (southern Finland, Ostrobothnia-Kainuu and Lapland), 4 or 5 inspections in each team, a total of 60 inspections in the whole country. If one of the teams does not find four or five suitable targets, additional targets will be taken from another team in the area so that 20 targets are obtained from the region. The inspection is done with linear circular sampling and 10 test areas are placed in each felling area in accordance with the field work instructions.
