According to the Government, Finland has a large production potential of clean electricity, which enables the development of a competitive hydrogen economy in Finland on a European and even global scale. The Government's Decision in Principle, approved on February 9, 2023, describes Finland's Hydrogen Goals and Actions to Promote the Goals. Finland Aims for Europe's Leading Position in the Hydrogen Economy Across the Entire Value Chain. Finland has the conditions to produce at least ten percent of the EU's emission-free hydrogen in 2030.

The sun is a renewable source of energy, which is still enough for about 6.5 billion years. Solar energy is also one of the most sustainable forms of energy, because it cannot be overconsumed. The Potential Of Solar Energy Would Be Enough To Cover Our Entire Global Energy Consumption, But We Need Diverse Ways To Utilize Its Full Potential. The Union of Häme has completed a provincial survey of the potential of renewable energy, but it only deals with the production of industrial-scale solar power, which is currently located outside the built environment. This Report Will Supplement Em. The purpose of the Mapping of Provincial Energy Potential is to map the potential of solar energy in the built environment, e.g. in buildings and waste lands of planned areas in Kanta-häme Province. The survey focuses on the surfaces of industrial, commercial and public buildings and the medium-sized solar power production suitable for them, but the solar power potential of private and small houses is also mapped. The report also examines, for example, the coverage of large parking areas and their role and suitability for solar energy production. Other Innovative Solutions Can Also Be Mapped. Solar Energy Production Focused on the Built Environment Saves the Pressure to Place Panel Fields in the Natural Environment. The production of solar energy located in the built environment does not threaten the core areas of nature, the ecological network, nor the diversity of nature, but partly secures the preservation and development of carbon sinks in the province. A property-specific solar power plant also does not require long high-voltage lines. The report will be used as a background report for the Provincial Plan and the Provincial Renewable Energy Strategy. The Municipalities of Kanta-häme Can Use the Survey as a Background Survey for General Planning and in the Preparation of Climate Plans.
