The Gmh | Building Management Hamburg Gmbh is a municipal company that provides construction, operation and management services for over 50 general education schools in the south of Hamburg (Wilhelmsburg and Harburg) as well as for university and municipal buildings. The Stübenhofer Weg primary and district school was built in the 1960s and supplemented with temporary pavilions a short time later. As part of previous construction and renovation measures, some of the existing buildings have already been replaced by new buildings. In the three construction phases that now exist, the new construction and renovation measures at this location are to be completed and new areas are to be created for the primary school and the district school. The first construction project included the construction of a new classroom building for the primary school, the construction of a new single-field sports hall, as well as an extension for specialist classes at the district school. In the second construction phase, a workshop building will be constructed and an existing building will be renovated. For this purpose, existing buildings are demolished in advance. In the final construction phase, a second single-field sports hall will be built. Following the individual construction phases, the outdoor facilities will be redesigned. The school “auf Der Veddel” at Slomstieg 1 in 20539 Hamburg is to undergo comprehensive repairs. The building, built between 1929 and 1932 according to the designs of the renowned building director Fritz Schumacher, is now a listed building. The characteristic building shell is characterized by dark red clinker bricks. A facade was structured with cornice bands, lintels and supports made of reinforced concrete with surface treatment, which today have a beige finish. Extensive measures are being carried out as part of the basic renovation. After thorough pollutant remediation, conversion and renovation work follows in the interior as well as on the outer shell of the building. The main projects include the installation of an elevator for accessibility, the installation of new emergency stairs and comprehensive fire protection upgrades.
