The purpose of the cable is to monitor temperatures using optical fiber cable from medium-depth groundwater-filled geoenergy wells. The wells to be monitored are 600-800 meters deep and most of them have heat transfer pipes installed. The monitoring cable will be installed both freely in the groundwater and in the heat transfer fluid inside the pipes (ethanol). The fiber cable used must be specifically designed for monitoring purposes and DTS (distributed temperature sensing) for temperature measurement.

The objective of this procurement is to purchase information on the rock engineering design and construction of a hydrogen storage facility mined in rock with conceptual accuracy. The competition is open to rock engineering companies and companies with a separate unit/department specialized in rock engineering (see the section Criteria for the procurement object). Conceptual accuracy refers to preliminary information such as a preliminary study. The results will be used as background information in the development of large-scale hydrogen storage in Finland. Hydrogen storage facilities mined in rock have not been implemented in Finland, and no separate requirements have yet been defined for them. The results of the work are intended to serve as an example of design and implementation, but only at a general level.

The aim is to conduct a high-quality study on the suitability of two tailings sands (see Identification of the procurement object) as a material for a possible commercial product (e.g. patio tiles). For more information, see the Appendix Identification of the procurement objects. Suitability is assessed by preparing test specimens using geopolymerization technology and testing the strength properties of the test specimens at different ages (1, 2, 7, 28 days). The purpose of the study is to produce reliable information on the technical suitability of different tailings sands for production use.
