The Pirkanmaa Regional Development and Economic Development Centre is requesting a tender for the measurement of cross-sections of the Iso-kulovesi Narrows. The boundaries of the mapping area are presented in Appendix 1, and the boundary area is available as spatial data in Appendix 2. Both the maps and the area estimates presented are indicative. The work must be completed by 3.10.2025.

During the renovations, 4 separate mounds will be excavated in the western meadows area of Porvoo Ruskis (land area) and the excavated materials obtained from them will be used to shape flat-profile islands that are higher than the terrain next to the mounds. The mounds will be shaped with gentle edges and the deepest ones will be set to a depth of 70 cm. The mound islands will be shaped in such a way that their mechanical mowing and/or grazing will be successful in the same way as the surrounding area. Open water surfaces will be formed in the area and land areas that are slightly higher than the surrounding environment will serve as feeding and resting areas for water and wetland birds. The islands that are slightly higher than the other mounds will also serve as nesting areas, because sometimes the natural variation in sea level makes the actual beach mound unsuitable for the purpose.
