Details: Nasa’s Technology Transfer Program Solicits Inquiries From Companies Interested In Obtaining License Rights To Commercialize, Manufacture And Market The Following Technology. License Rights May Be Issued On An Exclusive Or Nonexclusive Basis And May Include Specific Fields Of Use.nasa Provides No Funding In Conjunction With These Potential Licenses. the Technology: this Innovation Builds Off Of Nasa Langley Research Center's Sansec Sensing System. Sansec Is An Open-circuit, Resonant Sensor That Needs No Electrical Connections (thus The Name Sansec Or "without Electrical Connection"). This Technology Combines The Sansec Circuit With A Magnetic Field Reader To Allow For Detection Of Magnetic Or Electric Field Changes To Produce A Spectroscopy Readout. this Technology Is A Method Of Identifying Material Anomalies And Defects On Or Within A Material By Observing And Quantifying How A Localized Change In Either Conductivity, Permeability Or Permittivity Changes The Responding Electric Field And Magnetic Fields. This Approach Has Many Advantages Over Typical Spectroscopy Methods, Particularly Because Typical Methods Only Measure Changes In The Electric Field. This Advancement Will Allow For Potentially Deeper Detection Of A Material's Abnormalities/defects (including Subsurface Measurements) With Limited Electrical Requirements. The Technology Has Applications As Diverse As Medical Oncology Screenings Or Surface Measurements Of Aeronautic Skins. Another Promising Application Is Bore Hole Geological Spectroscopy. In Such An Application, An Array Of Sensors Could Be Embedded Into Bore Hole Drills For Exploratory Deep Wells. As The Drill Tooling Slides Past The Bore Hole Wall, Spectroscopic Sampling Of The Side Walls Reveals Important Dielectric Property Information That Is Highly Useful To Prospectors And Geologists In Determining The Probability Of Specific Resources That May Exist In The Subterranean Geology. to Express Interest In This Opportunity, Please Submit A License Application Through Nasa’s Automated Technology Licensing Application System (atlas) By Visitinghttps://technology.nasa.gov/patent/lar-tops-192 if You Have Any Questions, Please E-mail Nasa’s Technology Transfer Program Atagency-patent-licensing@mail.nasa.govwith The Title Of This Technology Transfer Opportunity As Listed In This Sam.gov Notice And Your Preferred Contact Information. Details: Nasa’s Technology Transfer Program Solicits Inquiries From Companies Interested In Obtaining License Rights To Commercialize, Manufacture And Market The Following Technology. License Rights May Be Issued On An Exclusive Or Nonexclusive Basis And May Include Specific Fields Of Use.nasa Provides No Funding In Conjunction With These Potential Licenses. the Technology: nasa's Langley Research Center Researchers Have Developed A Wireless, Open-circuit Sansec [sans Electrical Connections] Sensor That Can Detect The Presence Of Chemicals Without Being In Contact With The Chemical It Is Detecting. This Unique Thin-film Sensor Is Used In Conjunction With A Chemical Reactant That Detects The Presence Of The Chemical. Because Of The Way The Sensor Operates, The Reactant Can Be Separated From The Sensor Itself And Placed In Caustic Or Harsh Environments, And Can Still Work To Detect The Specific Chemical It Was Designed To Discern. The Ingenuity Of The Thin-film Design With The Elimination Of All Wires, Connections, And Electronic Components Enables The Sensors To Be Produced Cost-effectively. This Is An Application Of The Nasa Award-winning Sansec Sensor, Which Is Damage Resilient And Environmentally Friendly To Manufacture And Use. The Sensors Use A Nasa Award-winning Magnetic Field Response Recorder To Provide Power To The Sensors And To Acquire Physical Property Measurements From Them. the Sansec Sensor Is An Open Circuit Without Electrical Connections, Which Functions As An Electrical Simple Harmonic Oscillator When Exposed To A Harmonic Magnetic Field. Its Response Is Dependent Upon The Measured Physical Property. It Consists Of A Uniquely Designed Thin-film Electrically Conductive Geometric Pattern That Stores Energy In Both Electric And Magnetic Fields. When Wirelessly Interrogated Using The Nasa Developed Magnetic Field Response Recorder (u.s. Patent Number 7,159,774), The Sensor Becomes Electrically Active, And A Chemical Reactant Works In Tandem With The Thin-film Trace. If The Chemical Is Present, It Causes A Change To The Reactant, Resulting In An Alteration To The Sensors Magnetic Field Response Attributes. This Change Is Noted Electronically By The Magnetic Field Response Recorder. to Express Interest In This Opportunity, Please Submit A License Application Through Nasa’s Automated Technology Licensing Application System (atlas) By Visitinghttps://technology.nasa.gov/patent/lar-tops-76 if You Have Any Questions, Please E-mail Nasa’s Technology Transfer Program Atagency-patent-licensing@mail.nasa.govwith The Title Of This Technology Transfer Opportunity As Listed In This Sam.gov Notice And Your Preferred Contact Information. Details: Nasa’s Technology Transfer Program Solicits Inquiries From Companies Interested In Obtaining License Rights To Commercialize, Manufacture And Market The Following Technology. License Rights May Be Issued On An Exclusive Or Nonexclusive Basis And May Include Specific Fields Of Use.nasa Provides No Funding In Conjunction With These Potential Licenses. the Technology: nasa Langley Research Center Has Developed A Method For Exfoliating Commercially Available Hexagonal Boron Nitride (hbn) Into Nanosheets A Few Atomic Layers Thick. Currently Hbn Has Limited Use Because It Is Insoluble With Limited Dispersibility, Despite Hbn Having Excellent Thermal Conductivity And Electrical Insulation. Langleys Novel Method Provides For Exfoliated Hbn Nanosheets That Are Soluble Or Suspendable In A Variety Of Solvents, Allowing For Their Bulk Preparation And Incorporation Into Composites, Coatings, And Films. the Invented Method Involves Mechanical Breakdown Of Large Hbn Particles Followed By Chemical Functionalization To Achieve Exfoliation Of The Hbn Sheets. The Exfoliated H- Nanosheets Are Of Mono- Or Few Atomic Layers Thick, And Dispersible (or Suspendable, Soluble) In Common Organic Solvents And/or Water, Depending Upon The Nature Of The Functionalities. The Functionalities Can Be Subsequently Removed By Thermal Treatment, With The Hbn Nanostructures Remaining Intact And Exfoliated. to Express Interest In This Opportunity, Please Submit A License Application Through Nasa’s Automated Technology Licensing Application System (atlas) By Visitinghttps://technology.nasa.gov/patent/lar-tops-131 if You Have Any Questions, Please E-mail Nasa’s Technology Transfer Program Atagency-patent-licensing@mail.nasa.govwith The Title Of This Technology Transfer Opportunity As Listed In This Sam.gov Notice And Your Preferred Contact Information. Details: Nasa’s Technology Transfer Program Solicits Inquiries From Companies Interested In Obtaining License Rights To Commercialize, Manufacture And Market The Following Technology. License Rights May Be Issued On An Exclusive Or Nonexclusive Basis And May Include Specific Fields Of Use.nasa Provides No Funding In Conjunction With These Potential Licenses. the Technology: nasa Langley Research Center's Electric Field Imaging (efi) System Is The Only Noncontact Method Capable Of Quantitatively Measuring The Magnitude And Direction Of Electrostatic Fields In Near- And Far-field Applications. Based On Low-cost, Commercially Available Components, The Efi System Uses Measurement Of Very Low-current, Human-safe Electric Fields To Construct A Three-dimensional Image Of Objects And People Based On Their Dielectric Properties. This Platform Technology, Originally Developed For Measurement Of The Efficacy Of Electrical Shielding Around Cables, Could Be Optimized For A Variety Of Applications, Including Medical Imaging, Security And Detection, Weather And Natural Disaster Prediction, And Nondestructive Evaluation Of Composites And Insulators. The Efi System Has The Potential To Offer A Lower-cost, Portable, And Safer Alternative To The Imaging Systems Currently Used In These Applications. the Efi Imaging Platform Consists Of A Sensor Array, Processing Equipment, And An Output Device. By Registering Voltage Differences At Multiple Points Within The Sensor Array, The Efi System Can Calculate The Electrical Potential At Points Removed From The Sensor. Using Techniques Similar To Computed Tomography, The Electrical Potential Data Can Be Assembled Into A Three-dimension Map Of The Magnitude And Direction Of Electric Fields. Since Objects Interact With Electric Fields Differently Based On Their Shape And Dielectric Properties, This Electric Field Data Can Then Be Used To Understand Shape, Internal Structure, And Dielectric Properties (e.g., Impedance, Resistance) Of Objects In Three Dimensions. The Efi Sensor Can Be Used On Its Own To See Electric Fields Or Image Electric Fieldemitting Objects Near The Sensor (e.g., To Evaluate Leakage From Poorly Shielded Wires Or Casings). For Evaluation Of Objects That Do Not Produce An Electric Field, Nasa Has Developed Generator That Emits A Low-current, Human-safe Electrostatic Field For Snapshot Evaluation Of Objects. Additionally, An Alternative Efi System Optimized To Evaluate Electric Fields At Significant Distances (greater Than 1 Mile) Is Being Developed For Weather-related Applications. to Express Interest In This Opportunity, Please Submit A License Application Through Nasa’s Automated Technology Licensing Application System (atlas) By Visitinghttps://technology.nasa.gov/patent/lar-tops-116 if You Have Any Questions, Please E-mail Nasa’s Technology Transfer Program Atagency-patent-licensing@mail.nasa.govwith The Title Of This Technology Transfer Opportunity As Listed In This Sam.gov Notice And Your Preferred Contact Information.
