The bid capacity required in the given tender to bid having value and formulas is: Available Bid Capacity = [A x N x 2] – 0.33xNxB Where,
A = Maximum value of construction works executed and payment received in any one of the previous three financial years or the current financial year (up to date of inviting tender), taking into account the completed as well as works in progress.
N= Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids has been invited.
B = Existing commitments and balance amount of ongoing works with tenderer as per the prescribed proforma of Railway for statement of all works in progress and also the works which are awarded to tenderer but yet not started upto the date of inviting of tender. Alternatively, the bid capacity required can also be determined based on the technical eligibility criteria, which can be calculated using the following formulas:
1. 3 * 0.3 * Advertised Value
2. 2 * 0.4 * Advertised Value
3. 1 * 0.6 * Advertised Value However, the exact advertised value of the tender is required to calculate an exact figure for the bid capacity required. The tenderer will be qualified only if its available bid capacity is equal to or more than the total bid value of the present tender, which can be inferred as: Available Bid Capacity ≥ Total Bid Value of the present tender.

The required prior work experience for the bidder includes successfully completing or substantially completing one of the following categories of work(s) during the last 07 years: - Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, - Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, - One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. For composite works, the required prior work experience includes:
- Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of each component of tender, - Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of each component of tender, - One similar work each costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of each component of tender. Additionally, for single works, the same categories of work(s) are required: - Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, - Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, - One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. Substantially Completed Work means an ongoing work in which payment equal to or more than 90% of the present contract value has been made to the contractor. For subcontractors, the required prior work experience includes successfully completing at least one work similar to work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% value of work to be subletted, in last 5 years, except for subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh, where no previous work experience of subcontractor shall be asked for.
