This is a call to competition by Iarnród Éireann for the procurement of the ‘Supply of Friction Products for CME Rolling Stock’ (the “Contract”). Iarnród Éireann operate a number of rolling stock fleets with differing friction brake requirements (i.e. axle mounted discs, wheel mounted discs, and brake blocks applied directly to the wheel). To reflect the differing friction brake requirements, the tender process has been split into 9 separate Lots. Iarnród Éireann operate a number of maintenance facilities where brake pads and brake blocks are consumed as part of the normal running maintenance activities. In addition, as part of Iarnród Éireann’s heavy maintenance activities, brake pads and brake blocks are also consumed as part of the bogie refurbishment activities. It is intended that the contract(s) awarded from this tender will serve both running and heavy maintenance requirements.

The successful contractor will be responsible for any transport or civil works which may be required prior to removing and installing the cranes, all final measurements will be the responsibility of the contractor.
