EU Forest strategy includes many deliverables, among them key actions pertaining to environmental aspects. The contractor will support the Directorate-General for Environment in implementing these actions. Tasks will include the drafting of reports, the organisation of events, the assessment of scientific literature, and communication activities.

The objective is to extend the mapping domain, to improve the detection methods, and to create a community of users for the EU Grassland Watch platform (delivered by former project ENV.D.3/SER/20218/0037), which monitors grasslands and their conservation status in Natura 2000 sites. The monitoring of grasslands is mostly based on Earth Observation data (Sentinel 1, Sentinel 2 and Landsat).

Promotion, awareness raising, uptake and a comprehensive stakeholders’ engagement effort linked to the circular economy action plan 2 and existing sustainable consumption and production initiatives.

Invasive alien species (IAS) are one of the major threats to biodiversity. Regulation (EU) 1143/2014 on the prevention and management of the introduction and spread of invasive alien species (the IAS Regulation) entered into force in 2015. The core of the Regulation is a list of IAS of Union concern (Union list), established by Commission implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1141, updated by Commission implementing Regulations (EU) 2017/1263 and (EU) 2019/1262, with more updates foreseen.

The tasks include, among others, technical assessment of analytical methods, existing and in development, for the analysis of ‘Sum of PFAS’ and ‘PFAS Total’ in water intended for human consumption as defined by the recast Drinking Water Directive (DWD) as well as drafting of technical guidelines regarding analytical methods for ‘Sum of PFAS’ and ‘PFAS Total’.

The project aims to increase the availability of EU Ecolabel paper and absorbent hygiene products on the market for citizens, by simplifying the procedure to assess the ingredients of these products and find more sustainable products, ultimately empowering them in the transition to the circular economy.

Phase 5 of the support to the EU Business and Biodiversity Platform.

Under this service contract, the contractor shall provide scientific and technical advice on issues linked to the nitrates directive and nutrient management. The contractor will support DG Environment on technical and scientific aspects of nutrients use and management and assist the Commission in its obligation to enforce the nitrates directive.

The aim of the contract is to financially support the achievement of some of the objectives of the Pan-European action plan for sturgeons. The six tasks of the contract will cover compiling information on the implementation of the action plan, guiding the protection and restoration of sturgeon habitats, supporting efforts to protect sturgeons from by-catch, developing a population monitoring methodology, developing guidelines on ex situ conservation and increasing stakeholder support.

The objective of this contract is to develop guidelines for the assessment and monitoring of the condition of Annex I ‘Habitat types’ of the habitats directive. The contract shall support an improved quality, quantity, comparability and harmonisation of habitat type data gathered by Member States as a pre-requisite for the implementation of existing EU nature legislation and the EU restoration agenda.
