The contract shall cover the implementation of the following projects: o Transmission line from the regional reservoir of Aitit to the existing lines /reservoirs of the communities of Yanouh, El Bazouriyeh and Ouadi Jilo, Tyre o Drilling and equipment Of One New Well (FD9) and pumping lines, o Deepening Of two existing wells in Fakhreddin pumping station. o Upgrading of the water supply system in Chehour, Zebkeen, Deir Qanoun Naher and Beflay , Tyre Union of Municipalities

The contract shall cover the implementation of the following projects: o Construction of irrigation and storm water canals in Bouarej village, o Construction of cold storage facilities in Qabb Elias village; o Construction of a stadium and rooms in the municipal sport facility in Ali Al Nahri village; o Extension and installation of lighting system in municipal sport facility in Qoussaya village; o Upgrading the slaughterhouse in Baalbeck city; o Construction of Qaraoun Briquetting Facility in Qaraoun village; o Construction of irrigation and storm water canals in the communities of West Bekaa Union of Municipalities.

The Contracting Authority envisages the implementation of a vocational training programme addressing relevant economic sectors in the Litani River Basin (LRB). This programme, targeting mainly youth, will be linked to the needs of the local markets, and to businesses and industries in LRB to secure internship and jobs opportunities for successful candidates. The foreseen training programme will consist of a combination of occupational and soft skills. The occupational skills will include fields such as, industrial mechanics, industrial electricians, Lebanese gastronomy, international gastronomy, local food marketing, and software development. Soft skills will touch skills such as information technology, English language, communication skills and others. The training programme will be certified by international training agencies. Environmental compliance will be a crosscutting element of learning and practice in the vocational training.

The Contracting Authority intends to implement agricultural interventions in the Litani River Basin (LRB) in order to address the pollution caused by the dominant agricultural practices. The uncontrolled quality and quantities of pesticides, insecticide, herbicides, and fertilizers, and the bad utilization of animal fertilizers on agriculture lands result in both water and soil pollution. The contract scope consists of disseminating best agricultural practices, introducing alternative irrigation and production techniques (including agro-food processing), and on-the-job and plot-demonstration training modules. Strategies for involving youth in these activities will be devised to preserve the agricultural identity of the region and impact positively on social cohesion. Farmers and cooperatives will be supported to maintain their yields and to identify ways for scaling up and improving their production or reaching new markets.
