The defence is the backbone of any country. India's security is under the charge of the Government of India. The Supreme Command of the Armed forces is the one who takes responsibility for national defence with the Cabinet. The Ministry of Defence is regulated by the Defence Minister or the Raksha Matri, who provides a policy framework to the Armed Forces to execute their duties for protecting our country. The Department of Defence is linked to an Integrated Defence Staff (IDS), three duties, and several inter-service organizations. It is also responsible for keeping track of the Defence budget, establishment matters, defence policy, etc. The Department of Defence Production is managed by a secretary who deals with issues related to inspecting imported items, departmental production, etc. Whereas the Department of Defence Research and Development is responsible for advising the Government on some scientific aspects regarding military equipment and logistics. The department of ex-servicemen Welfare is also managed by a secretary who oversees activities like resettlement, Welfare, and pensionary matters of the Ex-servicemen.
