The GWSSB or Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board is a statutory body whose jurisdictional rights are extended across the whole state. This is a government set up for the development, regulation, and control of drinking water in Gujrat. The sector looks after the setup of water supply mechanisms as well as designated managing bodies to cover up clusters of villages. All these schemes include the installation of hand pumps, mini water supply plants, etc. in rural areas and also arrange abundant water supply systems for several other villages. After the GWSSB act, no. 18,1979, the duties of this organization included maintaining the water supply for sewerage, drainage, institutional water supply on request, and, if necessary, even personal amount. This body is designated to draft out plans of waste, sewage, and water supply under the directions of the State Government. The agency also charges tariff and tax fee on water supply in the areas that have compromised condition in this field but fall under the operational sphere of the water supply chain. The GWSSB is also concerned about setting the standards for water supply and sewerage services. They annually review the technical, financial, and economic aspects of the water supply in the state for the efficient operation of the whole chain. The company envisages the amount of water and sanitary services in the State of Gujarat as its mission. This, in turn, helps maintain the health and hygiene levels of the people, which is also a leading factor in the socio-economical development, communal harmony, and peace across the society. GWSSB conducts both annual and 5-year programs, implement sanitation policy plans. The main objective of this organization comprises drinking water supply chains, formulate tariff and tax charges, set baselines for water quality, conduct harvesting, and conservation policies, and maintain the water supply service standards. Persistent droughts, low rainfall, and jeopardized distribution plans have caused Gujarat to go through chronic water scarcity, which also gave rise to some quality issues for the drinking water or water used for various purposes. The government has made significant investments to find a permanent and long-lasting solution to this problem by formulating and implementing water supply schemes through various programs primarily done by three agencies, viz., GWSSB, GWIL, and WASMO. The collective effort of these agencies and the government has led to the implementation of several schemes and water supply programs both in rural and urban areas. For successful coverage of such problems, the board is regular in releasing GWSSB tenders and work orders addressing specific requirements that vendors can bid. A fair judgment panel is present to decide the winner in these cases. There are also GWSSB e-tenders found in the online web portal of the organization. But if you find it challenging to manage the bids from their portal, then the BidAssist app can help you out. This app can give you access to browse through approximately 15000 tenders every day from almost every major organization present in India.
