Kettering Library Roof Is In Parts Over 120 Years Old. The Library And Attached Art Gallery Are Grade Ii Listed Buildings And As The Owner Nnc Has A Duty To Maintain And Repair Them. The Library Roof Is Made Of Collyweston Stone Slate. A New Condition Survey Of The Roof Has Been Obtained Through Heritage Architects, Which Provides Evidence That The Roof Needs To Be Completely Replaced. The Collyweston Stone Needs To Be Replaced Like For Like, And Given The Nature Of How It Is Constructed, It Is Recommended To Be Undertaken During Dry Conditions. This Requires The Library Building To Be Made Water Tight Through A Tent Canopy, Which In Turn Necessitates A Complex Scaffold Being Erected And Retained In Place Throughout The Duration Of The Roof Replacement Works. Details: Public Notice The City Of Kenner (kenner) Is Soliciting The Submittal Of Statement Of Qualifications (soq’s) From Persons Or Firms Interested And Qualified To Provide Professional Architectural And Engineering Services For The Design, Construction Administration And Supplemental Services Relating To One 4-6 Story High Or Two 2-3 Story High Government Office Buildings With Proper Ground Level Parking, Drainage, Sewer/water, Lighting, Landscaping, Etc… Requirements.. General Information The General Location Of The Project Site Is To Be The West Side Of Williams Blvd. (la-49) In The Vicinity Of West Metairie Ave. The Site Is Where The Old City Hall Complex Existed Before Several Buildings Sustained Significant Irreparable Damage During Hurricane Ida On August 29, 2021. Within The Project Site, Two (2) Existing Office Buildings Which Are Currently Occupied With City Personnel Will Remain In Place. These Buildings Are Commonly Known As Buildings “c” And The Greenwalt Building. Within The Project Site There Is Also Veterans Park, Which Contains Numerous Decommissioned Military Equipment. Depending On Funding Availability, Kenner Reserves The Right To Relocate Such Equipment Closer To Williams Blvd. And Include Such Relocation Work As Part Of This Project. No Demolition Of Existing Buildings Is Considered To Be Part Of This Project. Such Rationale Report Is To Be Provided Based On Research Of Similar Communities’ Facilities And Best Practices. Rough Estimated Construction Costs Is To Be Provided For Each Conceptual Plan/rendition Provided. At Least One Public Meeting Will Be Conducted To Present To The Public Conceptual Plans/renderings To Gather Public Input. Project May Require Environmental Clearance Documentation/services To Meet Fema Requirements. Kenner Will Seek For Recommendations For Improvements To Reduce The Risks From Damage From Future Disasters, Incorporation Of Energy Efficient Components And Modern Information Technology Practices.
