Tender Results of Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation

Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) operates a TV, Radio and News Production and Archives platform on which CyBC’s deep archive is built on one Spectra Logic T950 Tape Library with Linear Tape Open 6 drives and tapes. The Tape Library, via tight API, integrates with the Telestream DIVA Hierarchical Storage (HSM) system. Both the Tape Library and the HSM system fully integrate with CyBC’s Media Asset Management (MAM) System, Dalet Galaxy 5 which orchestrates the entire platform and all its components including high resolution and proxy central storages.

The subject of this Tender is the AVECO and HARMONIC technology refresh and upgrade in the CyBC TV Multichannel Playout System. The refresh and upgrade of the AVECO and HARMONIC technology is mandatory for securing of guaranteed broadcasting service for all playout out channels produced and broadcasted by CyBC. The Playout and master continuity control is one of most critical systems in CyBC and since both AVECO and HARMONIC technologies are seamlessly integrated in the CyBC TV Multichannel Playout System, are working together with common file systems and are depending on each other, they shall both be refreshed/upgraded at once.
