The Institute for Compound Semiconductors (ICS) is in the process of constructing a new state of the art cleanroom facility that will be situated within the Cardiff University Translational Research Hub. This facility requires the capacity for 200 mm semiconductor wafer processing with a medium-scale pilot line throughput. One such capability is a 200mm direct write optical lithography system.

We currently have a variety of metal deposition systems in the ICS cleanroom that cater for both research projects and commercial based work. Due to increasing demand we now require additional metal deposition systems for deposition by both e-beam and thermal sources and also PVD sputtered films.

The aim of this procurement process is to purchase 9-inch mask cleaning system in order to enhance our 200mm semiconductor wafer processing facility. The University encourages bids from suppliers that have experience of supplying mask cleaning systems to organisations of a similar nature in the UK or Europe within the last 2 years, bidders must have supplied at least 10 units in the last 2 years.

The aim of this procurement process is to procure a tool that will expand our capability by including the capability of processing larger wafers up to 200mm in diameter.
