Bituminous Works

Milling of existing Bitumen surface upto 30mm depth, including disposal of milled material with all leads and lifts as per direction of Engineer -Incharge.

Providing and laying dense graded bituminous macadam 50mm to 75mm thick with batch type HMP using crushed aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder VG-40 @ 4.5%, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction complete as per technical clause 505 of MORT&H specifications.

Tack Coat @ 0.40kg per sqm Providing and applying tack coat with bitumen emulsion RS using emulsion pressure distributor at the rate of 0.25 kg per sqm on the prepared bituminous surface/granular surface treated wit prime coat after cleaning the surface complete as per technical clause 503 of MORT&H specifications.

Providing and laying bituminous concrete 30mm to 45mm thick with batch type hot mix plant using crushed aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder VG-40 @ 5.4%, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction complete as per technical clause 507 of MORT&H specifications.

Construction of Shoulder with good quality earth obtained from borrow pits including compensation of earth, loading, unloading, carriage to site of work, spreading , grading to required slope and compacting to meet requirement as per Clause-3003 of MORT&H specification.

Road Marking with Thermoplastic Compound: Road marking with hot applied thermoplastic compound 2.5mm thick including reflectorising glass beads @ 0.25kg per sqm area as per IRC:35 1997 complete as per technical clause 803 of MORT&H specifications.

Thermoplastic Marking of 300mm wide and 5mm height, at 600mm apart (one set is of 6 Strips). 5mm height is achieved through two applications of thermoplastic, applied at an interval not less than 1 hour after 1st layer gets solidified as per IRC-99 2018.

Preparation of plastered or concrete surface for painting (including sand papering the surface) using Acryllic Wall Putty by applying two or more coats to get required finish including priming coat to make an even surface before applying Acrylic wall putty on new plastered surface.Complete as per specifications.

Painting two or more coats with synthetic enamel paints in all shades on old wood work or metallic or plastered or concrete surface to give an even shade including rubbing down old paint.

Providing and erecting a "W" metal beam crash barrier comprising of 3mm thick corrugated sheet metal beam rail, 70 cm above road/ground level, fixed on ISMC series channel vertical post, 150 x 75 x 5 mm spaced 2 m centre to centre, 1.8 m high, 1.1 m below ground/road level, all steel parts and fitments to be galvanised by hot dip process, all fittings to conform to IS:1367 and IS:1364, metal beam rail to be fixed on the vertical post with a spacer of channel section 150 x 75 x 5 mm, 330 mm long complete as per clause 810.

Chevron sign board 600x500mm rectangular as per IRC 67- 2012 with high intensity Microprismatic grade retro reflective Sheeting as per ASTM D 4956 – 09 and as per IRC 67 – 2012. fixed over 3mm thick aluminium Composite material (ACM) sheeting having aluminium skin thickness of 0.25 to 0.3 mm on both sided and fixing the same with suitable size aluminium alloy rivets @ 200 mm c/c to back support frame of 25x25x3mm angle iron supported on a square hollow steel section post 60x60x3.2mm conforming to IS 4923 without cost of definition plate firmly fixed to ground in foundation concrete M-25 of size 0.45x0.45x0.60m for vertical post complete as per clause 801 of MORT&H specifications. Providing and constructing gabian structures for erosion control, river training works and protection works with wire crates of size 2 m x 1 m x 0.3 m each divided into 1m compartments by cross netting, made from 4 mm galvanised steel wire @ 32 kg per 10 sqm having minimum tensile strength of 300 Mpa conforming to IS:280 and galvanizing coating conforming to IS:4826, woven into mesh with double twist, mesh size not exceeding 100 mm x 100 mm, filled with boulders with least dimension of 200 mm, all loose ends to be securely tied with 4 mm galvanised steel wire.

Credit for Milling Material Note: Recovery shall be made for retrieved milled material at the rates specified herein (i.e @20% of rate quoted for item of BC) Material obtained from dismantling of existing bituminous layer has been calculated @60% of the rerieved material as per theoretical calculations. The agency shall take away this material at the fixed rate @20% of quoted rate of BC. If actual material is found on lower side, no claim will be entertained and full recovery on account of quoted rate and exhibited in the BOQ shall be made. The dismantled material can be used in nay of the items for work after modification so as to fulfill MoRTH specification clause 519 and the work agency can take the material. However, recovery of material shall be made for that quantity exhibited in the BOQ and specified herein irrespective of the fact that material is used in the work or not.
