The required prior work experience for the bidder includes experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of highway (road and/or bridge works) or airport runway of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five years. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90% completed as on the date of submission. The bidder should also have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover in any one year, over the last five years, of the annual value of the contract/contracts applied for. The bidder's prior work experience is considered based on the quantities of work executed as a prime contractor or as a nominated sub-contractor in the last five years and the current year before the submission of the bid. The experience is evaluated based on the execution of main items of work described in the bid document. The bidder is required to provide information on the quantities of work performed in different categories such as Cement Concrete, Masonry, Earth Works, and Bituminous Work. They should also provide information on their existing commitments and ongoing works. A certificate from the employer is required, incorporating the name of the work, contract value, billing amount, date of commencement of works, and satisfactory performance of the contractor. The value of similar works completed is at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract, and substantially completed works should be at least 90% completed. The annual financial turnover should be at least the annual value of the contract/contracts applied for in any one year over the last five years.
