The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having successfully completed or substantially completed at least one similar type work of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five years. The works may have been executed by the applicant as prime contractor or as a member of a joint venture or as a nominated sub-contractor. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90 percent completed. The bidder should have experience in civil engineering constructions, with a total value of civil engineering constructions work performed in the last five years specified as Rs. Lakhs. The bidder needs to have completed works of a similar nature over the last five years, with a total value of Rs. Lakhs. The value of similar works completed should be at least 40 percent of the proposed contract, and the percentage of completion for substantially completed works should be at least 90 percent. In case of joint ventures, the lead partner shall meet not less than 50 percent of all criteria, and the joint venture must collectively satisfy the criteria, with the experience of the other joint venture partners considered if it is not less than 30 percent of the qualifying criteria. The bidder is also required to provide information on work performed as a prime contractor or as a nominated sub-contractor, including the value of the contract, quantities of work executed, and description of work, with quantities specified for various types of work, including cement concrete, masonry, earthworks, and bituminous work. Additionally, the bidder needs to provide a certificate from the employers or engineer-in-charge, incorporating clearly the name of the work, contract value, billing amount, date of commencement of works, satisfactory performance of the contractor, and any other relevant information, including reasons for delay and work completed.
