In December 2026 (tentative Soft Opening November 2026, The Library Of Congress (henceforth, “loc” Or “the Library”) Will Open A Learning Space In The Southwest Corridor (swc) Of The Thomas Jefferson Building (henceforth “swc”) In A Newly Renovated Space On The Ground Floor, Which Will Be Approximately 5,700 Square Feet (see Attachment J-1). The Swc Will Be A User-driven, Flexible, Participatory, Experiential Space That Inspires Intergenerational Groups That Include Children Ages 7–13 To Use The Library And To Learn about Doing Research By Engaging In Co-learning Through The Institution’s Collections, People, And Services. The Southwest Corridor will Inspire Visitors To Make The Practices Of Research Part Of Their Lives And Will Invite Them To Use The Library’s Resources For Their own Creative Purposes.  the Swc Will Be A Platform To Support Visitor Learning Experiences, (onsite, In The Space, As Well As Online).
