Developing Standard Operating Procedures (sops) And Trainings On Planned Relocation For The Government Of Solomon Islands & Strengthening Resilience Against Disaster And Climate Change Related Fragility In Solomon Islands” Will Contribute Towards Addressing Disaster And Climate Change Related Fragility And Improved National And Community Resilience In The Solomon Islands. Towards This Objective, The Korea International Cooperation Agency (koica)-funded Project Will Ensure That Communities That Are At Risk Of Slow Onset Disasters Will Be Supported By Rights-based And Inclusive Standard Operating Procedures On Planned Relocation And By Trained Government Stakeholders. The Sops Will Ensure That Communities That Are At Risk Of Slow Onset Disasters Will Be Supported By Rights-based And Inclusive Relocation Procedures. This Will Contribute To Ensuring That Relocation Can Be Undertaken In A Rights-based Way That Achieves Durable Solutions For Both Relocating And Host Communities. In 2021 To 2022, The International Organization For Migration (iom) Supported The Solomon Island Government (sig) To Develop Planned Relocation Guidelines, Which Were Endorsed By Cabinet In August 2020. These Guidelines Provide For The Voluntary, Planned And Coordinated Movement Of People To Suitable Locations, Away From Risk-prone Areas, Where They Can Enjoy Their Rights Under Customary, National And International Law, Fulfilment Of Which Is Necessary For Relocation To Be Durable
