Hull City Council (the Authority) Has Been Successful In Its National Lottery Heritage Fund ('nlhf') Application For Funding To Restore Two Historic Maritime Assets - The Arctic Corsair Trawler, And The Spurn Light Vessel - Which Will Form An Integral Part Of The Wider 'maritime Project' In Hull Which Includes Refurbishment And Construction Works At The Hull Maritime Museum And Adjacent Dock Office Chambers Buildings In The City Centre, And Works At The North End Shipyard, (nesy), Site, On The River Hull. The Authority Is Now Seeking Bids From Suitably Qualified And Experienced Suppliers To Undertake The Required Conservation And Restoration Works To Both Historic Ships. It Is Intended That The Successful Contractor Will Be Appointed During March 2021, With Necessary Works To Both Ships Commencing From April 2021 And Being Fully Completed By No Later Than 30th September 2022. The Successful Contractor Will Need To Collect (tow) The Ships From Their Current Locations In Hull To The Place Of Repair, Then Undertake The Required Programme Of Works To Refurbish/restore The Ships As Specified, And To Then Return (tow) The Ships To Their New Locations In Hull. Note That The Arctic Corsair Is To Be Returned To Its New (permanent) Location At The North End Shipyard, River Hull, Where It Will Become A Heritage / Visitor Attraction In Nesy Dry Dock, Whilst The Spurn Light Vessel Will Be Returned To The Hull Marina. Note That The Arctic Corsair Works Are Anticipated To Take Approximately 240 Days, And The Spurn Light Vessel Works Are Anticipated To Take Approximately 180 Days. Both Vessels Will Be Made Available To The Successful Contractor Upon Contract Award. The Successful Contractor May Undertake The Works To The Ships Either Sequentially, Or 'in Tandem'. The Authority Is Seeking To Appoint A Lead Planning Consultant (lpc) To Lead, Project Manager, Guide, Provide Advice, And To Deliver The Local Planning Authority And Marine Management Organisation Consents For Cruise Hull Yorkshire. The Lpc Will Deliver The Required Studies, Including Planning And Environmental Reports. The North End Shipyard, River Hull, (nesy) Is Being Re-developed And Will Be Used To Berth One Of Hull's Restored Trawlers (the Arctic Corsair). The Nesy Contains Hull's Last Scotch Derrick Crane (sdc). This Tender Is For The Dismantling, Restoration And Reconstruction Of The Sdc In A Different Position On The Site. The Sdc Will Add To The Interpretation Of The Site And Will Help In Telling The Story Of The Nesy Site And Hull's Maritime History. Therefore, The Loading On The Structure Will Be Due To The Structure's Self-weight And Environmental Loading Only.
