Description Inauguration And Turnover Ceremony For The Tourist Rest Area (tra) In The Municipality Of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte On May 17, 2024 Project Background During The 2022 Sona Of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., He Clearly Identified Tourism As A Major Tool For The Economic Resurgence Of The Philippines And Acknowledged The Abundance Of Opportunities That The Tourism Sector Creates. Dot Secretary Ma. Esperanza Cristina Garcia Frasco Responded To President Marcos’ Directives By Implementing The Construction Of “tourist Service Center And Rest Areas (tscra)” As One Of The Strategies For Tourism Development. This Project Is In Partnership With The Tourism Infrastructure & Enterprise Zone Authority (tieza). The Construction Of This Tourism Facility Is In Line With The Ra 9593 Or The Tourism Act Of 2009 Under The Following Sections: Section 3. Objectives – Pursuant To The Above Declaration, The State Shall Adopt The Following Objective: (o) Maintain International Standards Of Excellence In All Tourism Facilities And Services, And Promote The Country As A Safe And Wholesome Tourist Destination; Section 34. Tourism Infrastructure Program — The Department, In Accordance With The National Tourism Development Plan And Local Government Initiatives, Shall Coordinate With The Department Of Public Works And Highways (dpwh) And The Department Of Transportation And Communications (dotc) In The Establishment Of A Tourism Infrastructure Program In The Respective Work Programs Of Said Agencies, Identifying Therein Vital Access Roads, Airports, Seaports And Other Infrastructure Requirement In Identified Tourism Areas. The Said Agencies And The Department Of Budget And Management (dbm) Shall Accord Priority Status To The Funding Of This Tourism Infrastructure Program; Section 63. The Tourism Infrastructure And Enterprise Zone Authority — Under The Supervision Of The Secretary And Attached To The Department For Purposes Of Program And Policy Coordination Shall Be A Body Corporate Known As The Tourism Infrastructure And Enterprise Zone Authority (tieza); Section 64. Mandate — The Tieza Shall Be A Body Corporate Which Shall Designate, Regulate And Supervise The Tezs Established Under This Act, As Well As Develop, Manage And Supervise Tourism Infrastructure Projects In The Country. It Shall Supervise And Regulate The Cultural, Economic And Environmentally Sustainable Development Of Tezs Toward The Primary Objective Of Encouraging Investments Therein. It Shall Ensure Strict Compliance Of The Tez Operator With The Approved Development Plan. Pursuant Thereto, The Tieza Shall Have The Power To Impose Penalties For Failure Or Refusal Of The Tourism Enterprises To Comply With The Approved Development Plan, Which Shall Also Be Considered A Violation Of The Terms Of Accreditation. Such Power Shall Further Be Defined Under The Implementing Rules And Regulations Of This Act. The Department Of Tourism Adheres To The Existing Law Under Ra 9593 Or The Tourism Act Of 2009 In The Provision Of Tourism Related Infrastructures. To Address The Directive Of President Marcos To Make Going Around The Philippines More Convenient To Tourists, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-frasco Propose For The Construction Of Tourist Rest Area (tra). In Ilocos Region, One (1) Of These Is Located In Ilocos Norte. Upon Its Completion, It Shall Be Turned-over To The Lgu Of Pagudpud. As Part Of The Activity, An Inauguration And Turnover Ceremony Is Set To Happen On May 17, 2024. Duration The Inauguration And Turnover Ceremony Will Be Conducted On May 17, 2024 In The Municipality Of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.
