D2.          scope Of Work D2.1        the Work To Be Done Under The Contract Shall Consist Of The Operational Mitigation  Measures To Reduce Fish Mortality During The Spring Spawning Season At The City Of Winnipeg’s Shoal  Lake Aqueduct Intake Facility (slaif) For The Period From March 1, 2024 Until June 30, 2024, With  The Option Of Five (5) Mutually Agreed Upon One (1) Year Extensions. D2.2.1             The Commencement Date Of The Mitigation Measure Work At Slaif Is Variable And  Dependant On Environmental Factors Such As Weather, Ice Coverage On The Lake, Lake Temperature, And  Observed Fish Spawning Activity. The Contractor Shall Determine When To Install The Barrier Net And  Other Field Equipment To Begin The Mitigation Measures Site Work Which Shall Occur Prior To Walleye  Spawning Activity. The Work Typically Begins Mid-april When The Ice In The Intake Channel Has  Receded And Lake Temperatures Approach 4c. D2.2.2             The City May Negotiate The Extension Option With The Contractor Within Ninety  (90) Calendar Days Prior To The Expiry Date Of The Contract. The City Shall Incur No Liability To  The Contractor As A Result Of Such Negotiations. D2.2.3             Changes Resulting From Such Negotiations Shall Become Effective On March 1 Of  The Respective Year.  changes To The Contract Shall Not Be Implemented By The Contractor Without  Written Approval By The Contract Administrator. D2.2.4             Bidders Are Advised That, In Future, The City May Be Participating In  Collaborative Procurement Initiatives With Other Levels Of Government.  accordingly, Extensions To  This Contract May Not Be Exercised. D2.3        the Major Components Of The Work Are As Follows: (a)      shoal Lake Fisheries Mitigation Measures Field Work: (i)     Installation And Maintenance Of A Barrier Net At The Mount Of Slaif (ii)     Gillnetting To Remove Fish Within The Intake Channel Behind The Barrier Net (iii)     Nightly Spotlight Surveys To Monitor Walleye Spawning Activity (iv)     Daily Entrainment Monitoring For Fish Eggs And Larvae (v)     Impingement Monitoring (b)      written Report Summarizing The Mitigation Measures Conducted And Results At Completion Of  The Program.
