Tenders of Brandenburg Memorials Foundation

The Ravensbrück Memorial and Memorial Site intends to erect a memorial on the banks of the Schwedtsee for the Jewish victims and prisoners in the former Ravensbrück women's concentration camp. The memorial consists of 40 flat and inscribed stone blocks measuring 2.0/0.5/0.15 m made of limestone. The stone blocks have a sawn surface and the inscription is engraved using a matrix and sandblasting technique. The area for the bedding of the stone blocks is approx. 410 square meters and consists of a lean meadow planted on approx. 20 cm of gravel in a free form and framed with steel bands. The area is partially covered with trees and is to be made accessible in load class N2. The areas immediately surrounding the lean meadow are to be designed as a fat meadow analogous to the existing one. It should be noted that the project is being monitored by monument and nature conservation authorities. The opinion of the nature conservation agency is still pending. The ground work as part of the project is being monitored by the archaeological service.
