This project aims to support urban mobility practitioners in Europe and to promote the uptake of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) in line with the Urban Mobility framework, the Commission’s SUMP Concept and Guidelines and the new Recommendation on National SUMP Support Programmes (NSSPs), with a special focus on the urban nodes on the TEN-T network.

The contract aims to strengthen and extend European Mobility Week (EMW), the Commission's flagship awareness-raising campaign on sustainable urban mobility.

ELTIS – the Urban Mobility Observatory: project management, website, newsletter, case studies, mini-clips, tools, statistics, city database, SUMP platform coordination group meetings, SUMP dissemination, development of SUMP guidance documents; translations and design, SUMP coordination/outreach, mapping of cities with a SUMP, organisation of Urban Mobility Days 2022, liaison with EU Climate Pact, urban mobility CSAs, EIP SCC platform, EIT urban mobility. Sustainable Urban Mobility Indicators (SUMI) and benchmarking tool: following 2020 pilot project, an indicator set (with data for participating cities) and online benchmarking tool was published on Europa/DG MOVE website. Indicator set and benchmarking tool to be updated annually, aiming for broader outreach to cities. Improvements to the methodology of the indicators, (limited) assistance to participating cities (up to 20 cities/year + ‘secretariat’ hotline), data acquisition fund, validation and publication of the results.
