This procurement is the amendment of an existing contract signed under the Call for tenders CLIMA/2022/OP/0003. The current contract ends on 27 September 2023. The amendment will include activities that are a continuation of the existing contract, around two areas: (i) assist the Commission in the development of future economic designs for auctions under the Innovation Fund based on the experience of the pilot auction; and (ii) assist the Commission in the development of business intelligence activities and communication and dissemination activities related with the launching of the first auctions.

Review of guidance documents under Directive 2009/31/EC on the geological storage of carbon dioxide (CLIMA.C2.6/MP2022). The four guidance documents on the implementation of Directive 2009/31/EC on the geological storage of carbon dioxide were developed more than 10 years ago. They are to be considered outdated due to the market related and technological changes. Given the growing market interest in the CCUS technologies, partially driven by the launch of the Innovation Fund and the Fit for 55 packages, around 30 new CCUS projects are to be implemented in the Union by 2030. There is an urgent need to update the Guidance documents to facilitate the realisation of such projects.
